Knitted Baby Blanket

Posted 5 years ago

So I am now full term in my pregnancy and the baby is welcome to come ANY time now. PLEASE!!!!
I though I would share with you a baby blanket I knitted for this, better be, baby girl. I used Lion Brand Pattern 50073AD. But of course in my true style I didn’t exclusively follow the pattern. I used Cascade Yarns  Cascade 220 Superwash Paints in colour 9858 Fruit Smoothie and I believe size 9 circular needles.

I modified the pattern to fit my gauge and the final size I wanted, which ended up 34″ by 50″. I like big blankets for babies since they grow so fast. The pattern follows the lion brand but the number of stitches differs  Bottom edge and top edge are 14 rows high 146 stitches wide in garter stitch, then the outside edges are 10 garter stitches. The individual blocks on the inside are 14 stitches wide and 18 rows high and there are 9 blocks across and 14  blocks high. the blocks are not perfectly square. Probably should have added an extra row.

Over all I am pretty happy with it and excited to wrap it around my baby girl.
Happy Crafting!

Very nice! I had a huge list of baby projects that I *planned* to do this pregnancy, but most of them are still on the to-do list.
