3D Exploding Box Christmas Cards

Posted 3 years ago

Caution, my Christmas Cards are explosive!

This year I decided to go with something a little bit different. 3D Exploding box cards. They have to be hand delivered or sent as packages but I hope the impact is great.

I used my handy Silhouette Cameo to cut all the pieces. I started with an exploding box from the Silhouette store. I went with this one that had a full lid so they did not fly apart and used just the lid and the outer layer.

I then made the white squares to glue on the sides and printed pictures to go on those. I did 2 different main designs, and 1 other one.

This one is a great little tree. I purchased this 3D Christmas Tree from the silhouette store and then modded it. I took of a bottom branch, scaled it, fattened it up and started mass producing. I cut a white tree skirt out of scraps of paper.

These little presents under the tree were a garland from the dollar store. I cut them off their string and voila tiny shiny presents under the tree.

The other main design I did was snowman. their hats were super fiddly but they are super cute looking.

Lastly I did 1 sleigh. I really love the look of it, especially once I filled it with said presents. this would also be great to put small actual presents in. HOWEVER this one was super hard to make this small, very small pieces and fiddly. Thus I made 1 and only 1.

Happy Crafting!
